Barbera

Barbera is the most classical wine cultivated on the Piedmontese hills. The grapes come from vineyards that are mostly clayey and where the abundant presence of quartz sand gives the wine fragrance and strength, but also balance and an intense bouquet.

The color is a lively and brilliant dark ruby-red. The perfume is fresh and intense with clean scents of wild berries, currants and sour black cherry. A light hint of vanilla and toasted oak.
The flavor is warm and robust, full-bodied, pleasant and balanced.

Barbera's trademark high acidity makes it ideal for rich Piemontese cuisine such as tajarìn pasta or polenta with meat ragù, or even for sharp sauces such as bagna cauda, the traditional antipasti warm dipping sauce made from anchovy and olive oil.
